Building a community of strong, fit, and healthy individuals
Upon graduating from UCSB in 2008, Sara received her personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and was offered her first job at Titan Sports Performance where she had been working as an intern.
At Titan Sara grew to love creating environments that allowed older adults to participate in regular exercise programs that would help them manage pain, overcome disability, and maintain independence so they could continue to enjoy activities of daily life. While developing and growing her own Senior Fitness Program, Sara began working part-time at several other local gyms, retirement communities, clinics, studios and elevating her practice as a fitness professional. In 2015, Sara with her associate Matt Anderson purchased Titan Sports Performance with the shared goal of building a community of strong, fit, and healthy individuals.
In 2013, Sara completed her Master of Science degree in Holistic Nutrition through Hawthorn University in hopes of better educating and enabling her private clients and students to develop healthy dietary habits centered on whole, real foods. Her thesis project Prevention and Effective Management of Osteoarthritis through Positive Lifestyle Behavior Change kick started extensive research into the pro-inflammatory nature of our modern lifestyle and deepened her belief that a holistic, comprehensive, and proactive approach must be taken to achieve true health and wellness.
In 2014 Sara was introduced to the The Plan, an anti-inflammatory nutritional protocol that resonated closely with her own education and approach to helping others. She began working with Lyn-Genet Recitas, nutritionist and NY Times and International Bestselling author of The Plan who taught her how to use the systematic method to determine which so- called “health foods” were actually contributing to Sara’s chronic allergies and hormone irregularities. For her newest book, The Metabolism Plan, Lyn-Genet integrates exercise into The Plan to determine the types and amounts of exercise that work best for individuals long-term. Eager to be a part of this groundbreaking and structured nutrition and exercise protocol that paralleled her own background, Sara began training under Lyn-Genet as a Health Coach for The Metabolism Plan, incorporating exercise testing with her private clients, and using the findings to continually evolve Titan’s small group strength and conditioning classes.
