Sara Box

Hi, I’m Sara, a food and lifestyle blogger now based in Bend, Oregon. After a 15 year career working in Santa Barbara, California as a holistic nutritionist, personal and group fitness instructor, and gym owner, I made the decision to shift my focus to my growing family and make the big move to Bend where I now foster my passion of getting creative in the kitchen and then sharing my finds and amateur food photography skills on my blog.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition (or anything for that matter), and I don’t adhere to a specific “diet”. However, I do love to experiment with new ingredients and different recipes, and find ways to make nutrient-dense vegetables the focus.

My hobbies outside of the kitchen include hiking and running with my lady Vizsla Foxy, reading and listening to good books, and enjoying fine wine, travel, and all the delicious eats our local restaurants have to offer along with my husband, Ryan and our baby girl, Emi.

Experience & Credentials

Prior to co-ownership of Titan Sports Performance, I worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Titan as well as several other local gyms and studios, retirement communities, and clinics from 2007 - 2015.

In 2013, I completed my MS degree in Holistic Nutrition in hopes of educating my clients and students to develop healthy dietary habits centered on whole foods and in 2015 I was introduced to The Metabolism Plan and trained under the anti-inflammatory health protocol’s creator, Lyn-Genet Recitas, to work as a health coach. After almost a decade of being misdiagnosed in my struggles to correct a chronic hormone imbalance, I became keenly interested in women’s hormonal health and completed an apprenticeship with women’s health expert Nicole Jardim in 2019.

At Titan, I provided nutrition coaching for individuals, students, and groups. I also programmed and taught all of our adult group training classes, our Golden Gears senior fitness program, and worked with personal training clients. While I can work with any demographic, I have the most experience with:

  • Women’s hormonal health - Exercise and nutrition programs for all stages of life

  • Pre- and post-natal nutrition and exercise programs

  • Geriatric exercise programs

    • prehabilitation or exercise program and maintenance after discharge from physical therapy

    • Functional training (activities of daily living), balance, strength, and flexibility programs

  • Exercise program modification for injury or dysfunction
